A Midwife to Walk Beside You on Your Birth Journey
Love your birth experience! Enjoy a deep relationship with your midwife, your baby, and, most importantly, yourself.
Take ownership of your pregnancy, your birth story, and your baby’s wellbeing. Your midwife is there to guide and support you as you make choices for yourself and your baby.
Give birth confidently and safely with skilled and personalized care from a midwife who specializes in supporting normal physiology and home birth.
Prenatal Care
You can expect hour-long visits so you have plenty of time to learn, ask questions, and build a relationship; a relaxed and calm environment where you are more than welcome to have your family or friends accompany you; and a care provider who truly listens.
The Birth
Your midwife will come to your home to support you and provide skilled care to you and baby throughout active labor and birth, including monitoring you and baby during labor, physical and emotional support that is as hands on or hands off as you desire, and care for 3–4 hours in the immediate postpartum to do a basic newborn exam, help establish breastfeeding, clean up, and ensure mother and baby are transitioning well.
Postpartum Care
Jessica will return to your home around 24 hours after the birth and then around 2 weeks. These visits provide an opportunity for breastfeeding support, ensuring mother and baby are recovering well, processing the birth story, and answering any questions you may have. You will then return to the office at 4–6 weeks postpartum for your final visit. During the entire first 6 weeks, your midwife is available via phone/text and additional visits as needed to support your postpartum recovery and the transition to motherhood.
